Sculpture 4: Growing, 2022-2023

Dark brown, fired clay

Height 38 cm

 

The approach to building this piece was similar to that of Sculpture 3: Spring. However, the rectangular core only reaches up to one third of the height and has been deeply cut into in order to achieve a sense of depth between the protruding forms.

The work is modelled in the round and is best seen from all sides because each viewpoint reveals a different character of the sculpture.

The photographs were taken moving the sculpture in a clockwise rotation.
